Dear Atarra, just to let you know I had the most fabulous stay, could not fault anything and was made to feel very comfortable. Excellent spa, great food first class accommodation and surroundings. You were right as no problem being on my own! Thank you so much for your help in booking I shall certainly want to return. Best wishes A.C

I contacted Essential Escapes after a recommendation from a friend who had booked her first solo spa break with them a few months earlier. I had no idea what I wanted, just that it would be the first time I would be travelling alone on this type of holiday. I was advised to take a six day serenity package at the Residence in Tunisia during the month of June.
I was initially sceptical about travelling to a North African country as a single woman but i need not have worried. I was met by a lovely driver at the airport and taken off to the hotel where everything seemed to just run so smoothly. The first couple of nights I ate at the main restaurant and was pleased to see three other tables occupied by women on their own. I hadn't intended to be sociable but I found myself talking to different people and even ate dinner with two other ladies towards the end of my stay. The Spa was incredible and very professionally run. The only thing I would mention is that most of the therapists only spoke very basic English so I wasn't always sure what the nature of each treatment was but it didnt seem to matter, the treatments were amazing! The outdoor pool is one of the best I have ever swam in and although it was hot, I think June was a good month to travel as it was bearable heat, any later and i would have struggled. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. I really relaxed into the break and felt very comfortable being there on my own.
